LX Financial LLC — Wire Fraud Prevention Protocol
Rule: No wire is sent based solely on emailed, texted, or incoming telephone instructions.
Before Every Wire
- Verify recipient. Call the recipient using a previously known or independently obtained telephone number.
- Read back instructions. Confirm recipient/account name, bank name, routing number, account number, and wire amount verbally.
- Never use contact information contained only in the wiring-instruction email to perform the verification.
- Changed instructions = STOP. Any change to previously verified banking information requires new independent verbal verification.
- Large/unusual wire = second look. Pause and independently review the transaction before clicking Send.
- Save verified beneficiaries whenever the bank permits it. Changes to saved beneficiaries require reverification.
- Confirm completion. Review the bank confirmation and monitor transaction alerts.
If Fraud Is Suspected
STOP immediately. Do not send additional funds.
If the wire has already been sent, immediately contact the bank's fraud/wire department and request a fraud hold and wire recall. Preserve all emails, texts, instructions, and transaction records.
No urgency, closing deadline, or request from a borrower, attorney, title company, investor, vendor, or other party overrides this protocol.
